Welcome to Prairie Song Academy!

At Prairie Song Academy we guide K-12 students’ academic and socio-emotional growth as they become confident, compassionate, creative thinkers.

Our nurturing environment gives them space to explore their interests, unleash their creativity, and broaden their worldviews.

We teach them to seek out the stories that are not always told, and to center those who have been marginalized.

When students leave us, they will know they are deeply loved, have a sense of their place in this world, and do their part in creating a more just and inclusive society .

Our School Features

Individualized Learning

We are a Montessori-based school, teaching children at exactly their level in all subject areas, regardless of age. We informally assess student knowledge, meet them where they are, and move forward.

Supportive Community

Our mixed-age classrooms facilitate friendships among children of a wide range of ages. Our guides help students develop a classroom community that is safe and welcoming for all.

Hybrid On-Site/Off-Site

We offer a unique blend of three days of on-site learning and two days of off-site learning each week. This helps students get sufficient rest, be less stressed, and enjoy more time with their families.

Non-Discrimination Policy

Prairie Song Academy is committed in policy, principle, and practice to maintaining an environment which prohibits discriminatory behavior and provides equal opportunity for all persons.  We affirm our commitment to provide a welcoming and respectful work and educational environment, in which all individuals within the Prairie Song family may benefit from each other’s experiences and foster mutual respect and appreciation of divergent views. We will not be tolerant of conduct which violates rights guaranteed by the law or other Prairie Song policy, as detailed in our family and employee handbooks.

Prairie Song Academy prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, marital status, national origin or ancestry, mental or physical disability, political belief or affiliation, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, genetic information, and any other class of individuals protected from discrimination under state or federal law in any aspect of the access to, admission, or treatment of students in its programs and activities, or in employment and application for employment. Furthermore, Prairie Song policy includes prohibitions of harassment of students and employees, i.e., racial harassment, sexual harassment, and retaliation for filing complaints of harassment or discrimination.
