At Prairie Song Academy, we’re a family. We always want to do what is needed to protect the most vulnerable member of our community.
We believe in community before convenience, always.
Masks are required for everyone at Prairie Song for the 2022-2023 school year. There are no exceptions to this policy. If someone forgets their mask, we’ll have one they can use! Our students have done very well with masks and it’s not a big deal for us to wear them.
Staff and students will wash their hands frequently, and high-touch hard surfaces will be sanitized regularly.
We ventilate our learning spaces with fresh air as much as possible, and eat lunch outside at every opportunity!
Will students and guides wear masks for the 2023-2024 school year? We don’t know yet! The board is paying close attention to levels of circulating disease and risks of acute infection and Long Covid, and taking into consideration what other precautions (primarily ventilation!) are available to us, and will make policies for the upcoming school year when we get closer! Families should be prepared for students to mask if the board determines that is the best policy for our learning community.
Further details about our illness and Covid exposure policies and our Covid precautions for this year can be found in the Family Handbook. Covid policy is subject to change throughout the academic year as circumstances and guidance from the Adair County Health Department, AAP, and CDC change.
